Previous CFO & CEO a.i. becomes Chairman
of the Management Board of the Kurtz Ersa Group
At the annual anniversary celebration, Kurtz Ersa CFO Thomas Mühleck was not only honored for 30 years of service by Advisory Board Chairman Rainer Kurtz, but was also appointed CEO and thus Chairman of the Management Board of the Kurtz Ersa Group. Thomas Mühleck started his career 30 years ago as a marketing clerk at Ersa GmbH in Wertheim, where he quickly attracted attention as a talent with lots of ideas, which he was happy to put into practice. At the beginning of 2000, he moved to Wiebelbach as Head of PR at Kurtz Holding GmbH & Co. Beteiligungs KG.
Step by step, other areas of responsibility were added – in 2003, as assistant to the management, he was responsible for the first ISO certification, for example, and planned the factory in Zhuhai, China. This was followed in 2004 by a stay in the USA as Commercial Director of Kurtz Ersa, Inc., where he was responsible for the introduction of SAP and reorganized the commercial area. In 2005, Thomas Mühleck was promoted to Head of Central Purchasing, Logistics and Communication and was subsequently also responsible for the Metals business segment as Commercial Director. Since July 1, 2009, the convinced Wertheim native has been a member of the Kurtz Holding Management Board and, as CFO, is responsible for IT, Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Controlling, QA and Compliance as well as Purchasing and Logistics. In addition to his CFO position, Thomas Mühleck also took on the role of CEO a.i. on a transitional basis from 01.10.2023.
“Dear Thomas, you took over as Chairman of the Management Board of the Kurtz Ersa Group a good year ago without hesitation – and you have really mastered this challenging task superbly. On behalf of the entire Advisory Board, I would like to thank you for steering the Kurtz Ersa ship safely through the rough seas. We are convinced that you will continue to succeed in the future. So you can cross out the ‘ad interim’ on your business card – we congratulate the new CEO of the Kurtz Ersa Group and wish you always full coffers and a stable order situation,” said Rainer Kurtz, Chairman of the Advisory Board. A visibly moved Thomas Mühleck accepted the congratulations and promotion: “Many thanks for the trust placed by the Advisory Board and shareholders – this trust goes to the entire Kurtz Ersa team, both my management team colleagues and all 1,600 employees worldwide.”

He is always approachable for his team and consistently carries out his tasks. When he is not busy with the company, he is looking after his grandchildren or working on his house, where there is always something to do.

His passion is his Güldner tractor, and he is also an active member of the volunteer fire department.
“The anniversary celebration at Bronnbach Monastery is an extremely worthy setting to honor our loyal employees. Without your tireless commitment, we would not be the global machine builder that we have become over the course of 245 years. On behalf of the management, the advisory board and the shareholders, a heartfelt thank you for your strong commitment at your workplace together with your team for the machine builder Kurtz Ersa, which we and our customers value,” concluded Thomas Mühleck.
